My book was written at the end of 2021. While the English edition was being prepared for publication, much had happened. On February 24, a full-scale invasion of Russian troops into the territory of Ukraine began. More than ten million Ukrainians lost their homes, at the beginning of May 2022, about five million people left the country to save their lives.
Each person has his own way. Here I share the innermost – my experiences. I literally had a presentiment that the military conflict in eastern Ukraine would develop into a full-scale war. And I sincerely hope that my book will help not only to better understand people who have lost everything because of the war and are starting their lives in a new place but also to realize the importance of peace, which today is the cherished desire of millions of people.

Kto hľadá senzáciu a politické dilemy, tak nemusí knihu otvoriť. Kto však hľadá realitu a skutočné odpovede, je to čítanie práve pre neho. Nie preto, že poznám všetkých troch chlapcov, ktorí sú súčasťou príbehu, ale preto, že kniha mi vysvetlila to, na čo som sama nedokázala prísť. Pekne napísaná, nevnucuje žiadne názory, poukazuje na realitu. Pútavo opisuje skutočný príbeh detí a mamy, ktorí si prešli komplikované putovanie z rodného, dnes už v podstate sotva existujúceho domova, až po dnešnú realitu vo svete plnom nepochopenia. Ten svet však tvoríme aj my. Čitateľom prajem rovnako silný emotívny zážitok, ako som mala ja.
